David Adams, President/CEO

Dave Adams is the Chief Executive Officer of the Michigan Credit Union League, CUcorp, and CU Solutions Group . The MCUL is headquartered in Lansing, Michigan and has affiliate company offices in Livonia, Salt Lake City, Wichita and San Diego.

Mr. Adams joined the Michigan Credit Union League in August of 1997. Prior to accepting the position with Michigan, Dave was president and CEO of the Washington Credit Union League and LSI, Inc. for six years. He also served on the staff of the Utah Credit Union League for eight years, the last three as president/CEO.

During his 27-year credit union career Adams has held numerous board seats with companies like Magic Line, Inc. and NYCE Corporation, both regional ATM companies, and he has also served on Governor Jennifer Granholm’s Council of Economic Advisors, the Council for Energy, Labor and Economic Growth and the Michigan State Higher Education Loan Authority. Through affiliated companies CUcorp and CU Solutions Group, for profit businesses servicing credit unions in Michigan and nationwide, Adams was instrumental in the creation of Invest in America, a program that fuels growth for domestic auto companies and helps increase new vehicle loans for credit unions, as well as, supporting the products of other U.S. based companies.

Other recent innovations by the MCUL and Affiliates include the nationally recognized Save to Win program which helps people of modest means save via a prize raffle structure. Another innovation is the Michigan Small Business Financing Alliance which partners credit unions with Michigan State government to support the training and capital needs of Michigan small businesses.

A native of Utah, Mr. Adams received a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Utah before earning his M.B.A. from Utah State University.

As CEO of the Michigan Credit Union League and Affiliates, Adams has been a champion of credit union cooperative principles, the application of technology to service delivery and of focus on the important core trade association functions of advocacy and information services for the credit union community.

Mr. Adams has also taught Financial Institutions Management at the graduate level for Wayne State University and at the undergraduate level at the University of Michigan, ranked among the top ten business colleges in the U.S.
